The 2022 version of Bullpen Report includes five different sections, as well as the closer chart, which can be found at the bottom of the page.

We will always include a link to the full Closer Depth Chart at the bottom of the Bullpen Report each day. It’s also accessible from the RosterResource drop-down menu and from any RosterResource page. Please let us know what you think.

The “RosterResource” link will take you to the corresponding team’s RosterResource depth chart, which will give you a better picture of the full bullpen and results of the previous six days (pitch count, save, hold, win, loss, blown save).

•Raisel Iglesias, LAA: Three of the last four days; 26 pitches on Sunday. | RosterResource

Ryan Tepera cleaned up Iglesias’s mess on Sunday (more on that in the Outlier Saves section) and should be good to pitch on Monday again if needed. Aaron Loup is also an option to close.

•Jordan Romano, TOR: 21 pitches on Sunday; 9 pitches on Saturday. | RosterResource

Romano surely wants to be available in a big series against the Yankees that begins Monday, but if Charlie Montoyo keeps him out then he could turn to any of Yimi García, Adam Cimber or Tim Mayza or to close.

The Angels didn’t anticipate needing anyone to close out the game entering the bottom of the ninth, with Michael Lorenzen cruising with a 6-0 lead. Four batters in, and Lorenzen’s shutout was gone, leaving a 6-2 game with just one out and a runner on second. It wasn’t a save opportunity at that point, but closer Raisel Iglesias entered. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t have his best stuff. He struck out Reese McGuire to open his outing… and then gave up a double, single, infield hit, walk and hit batter to make it a 6-5 game, throwing 26 pitches and leaving a bases-loaded mess for Tepera. The righty was able to stop the bleeding, though, inducing a soft grounder to end the game. Iglesias likely won’t be available Monday so Tepera could get another shot.

Giovanny Gallegos didn’t even get up to warm after Helsley carved his way though the middle of the Diamondbacks order in the eighth inning, hitting 103.1 MPH on a strikeout of Ketel Marte. Letting the electric righty stay in for the ninth proved correct, as he then struck out the side for his first save of the year. Helsley’s been nothing short of incredible to start his season, striking out 16 of 26 batters faced with one hit the only batter to reach base on him all month. With Gallegos a bit rocky to start the year (five runs in seven innings with just five strikeouts), and not having pitched since Monday, this is a situation to watch.
